CAPE TOWN INTERNATIONAL HOCKEY TOURNAMENT

9-14 July 2024

The Cape Town International Schools Hockey Tournament is owned and managed by our sister company, Pure-Travel, (the leading schools tour operator in South Africa) in the stunning Mother City of Cape Town. The festival has grown immensely from 12 teams in 2003, to 48 teams, with the standard and the quality of the event increasing gradually over the years. The tournament occurs annually in July and due to its popularity, we have limited the field to 24 boys and 24 girls teams at the U17-U19 age group.

The 2023 event was the 18th edition of this prestigious hockey tournament, featuring teams made up of both local and international talent, departing from Zimbabwe, Namibia and from all parts of South Africa. The 19th edition of this event will once again take place in Cape Town and we look forward to the return of our international schools from across the waters.

The Cape Town Schools’ Tournament is a Western Province Hockey Union, (WPHU) sanctioned event and the technical component of the tournament is managed by WPHU in conjunction with our sister company in Cape Town. The tournament is played in accordance with FIH, (Federation of International Hockey) standards, placing this event as the leading schools and club hockey tournament globally.

OUR REFERENCES

‘’I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the incredible Hockey tour to South Africa that Merchant Taylors’ School were so lucky to go on last Summer. The tour was a life changing experience and the most rewarding tour I have ever been on both as a player and a teacher.

Team Sports were outstanding in the preparations of the trip, the smooth transitions between countries and the overwhelming care they put into us on the ground in South Africa. As leader of the tour, I could not have been happier with the support and care we received while we were there.

On behalf of Merchant Taylors’ School, I would like to thank you for an exceptionally well-run tour.”

Director of Hockey & Co-Curricular - Merchant Taylors’ School

‘’I thought it was an absolutely wonderful trip and I know the girls feel the same way. The itinerary was fantastic, and we visited some superb places. I had never been to SA before, but I found everyone so welcoming wherever we went. I thought the trip went very smoothly and the support that we had while we were out in SA was first class.  Indeed, the whole experience is pretty difficult to find fault.’’
