Due to the country’s diverse culture, excellent weather, beautiful beaches, and their warm hospitality to host inbound teams, Portugal has become somewhat of a touring powerhouse, not only for rugby but for many other sports.
Portugal’s club rugby scene is thriving, especially at junior level, making it a highly enjoyable and competitive short haul rugby tour destination option. There are several Easter rugby festivals to choose from for both boys and girls, as well as seven’s festivals to choose from, which make for an excellent preseason rugby tour.
From guided surfing lessons to a Sporting Lisbon or Benfica FC Stadium Tour, to free time on one of the many blue flag beaches of Estoril or Cascais, you will never find a dull moment in Lisbon, Faro or Porto.

BEST TIME TO TRAVEL:
The best time to visit Portugal for sports tours is between September and June, thus avoiding the hottest, busiest, and most expensive months of July and August.
Day 1 – Meet at London Gatwick Airport for your outbound flight / arrive and transfer to your 3* Amazonia Hotel for the following 4nts / on arrival enjoy a guided Lisbon city tour / check in and explore your local surroundings / tour briefing and dinner at hotel
Day 2 – Breakfast followed by a self-led training session at local club / transfer to first match against local club, followed by post-match function / evening dinner at hotel
Day 3 – Breakfast and Morning at leisure / group to enjoy a guided stadium tour of Benfica FC / afterwards, head into town to explore the city, the cobbled streets, the castle and to enjoy a local fish dish / afternoon transfer to second match against local opposition / evening dinner at hotel
Day 4 – Breakfast and transfer to Caparica beach for a morning guided surf lesson / enjoy a burger and chips lunch at Jose’s café / afternoon transfer to the third and final tour fixture vs local club which will include match refreshments
Day 5 – Breakfast and check out of hotel / transfer to airport for your return flight home
