OUR POLICIES

The law says your holiday must be protected if it is a package holiday.  Team Travel Management protects your money with ATOL and ABTA.

ATOL (which stands for Air Travel Organiser’s Licence) is a UK financial protection scheme and it protects most air package holidays sold by travel businesses that are based in the UK.

Our ATOL is registered in the name of Tourvest Destination Management UK Ltd t/a Team Travel Management (previously Team Sports Travel) and Springboks on Tour.  Our ATOL number is 10991 and our certificate can be found here.

Some of the flights and flight-inclusive holidays/ tours on this website are financially protected by the ATOL scheme but ATOL protection does not apply to all holiday and travel services listed on this website. Please ask us to confirm what protection may apply to your booking. If you do not receive an ATOL Certificate then the booking will not be ATOL protected. If you do receive an ATOL Certificate but all the parts of your trip are not listed on it, those parts will not be ATOL protected.

For package holidays that do not include air, as a member of ABTA, financial protection is provided for your money. Again, protection does not apply to all holiday and travel services listed on this website.

Both schemes ensure that if a travel business ceases trading, the customers of the failed company are protected, and the relevant scheme will ensure that the customer can return home (if on holiday/tour) and will not lose their money if the business collapses prior to travel.

Please see our booking conditions for information, or for more information about financial protection and the ATOL Certificate, click here.

ABTA is the UK’s largest travel association, representing travel agents and tour operators and lead the travel industry in supporting high service standards, high health & safety practices, and promoting responsible tourism. Tourvest Destination Management UK Ltd t/a Team Travel Management is a member of ABTA – Member number: Y6618.

ABTA and their members help holidaymakers to get the most from their travel and assist them when things do not go according to plan. This means you have the benefit of ABTA’s assistance and Code of Conduct. We provide financial protection for your money when you buy a package holiday. If you buy a package that includes a flight then this will be financially protected by ATOL, if you buy a package excluding flights, this will be financially protected with ABTA, but if you buy other travel arrangements from us such as accommodation (which does not form part of a package), neither the ABTA or ATOL protection applies.

If you have a complaint about your tour, please email with all the relevant details at info@teamtravelmanagement.com. Whilst we would always do our utmost to find a resolution to complaints you have access to use ABTA’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme which is approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute. If we can’t resolve your complaint, go to www.abta.com to use ABTA’s simple procedure. Further information on the Code and ABTA’s assistance in resolving disputes can be found on www.abta.com. You can also access the European Commission Online Dispute (ODR) Resolution platform at http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. This ODR platform is a means of registering your complaint with us; it will not determine how your complaint should be resolved.

For further information about ABTA, the Code of Conduct and the arbitration scheme available to you if you have a complaint, contact ABTA, 30 Park Street, London SE1 9EQ. Tel: 020 3117 0599 or www.abta.com

On the suggested tours featured on our website, you will find a ‘Health, Safety & Entry Requirements’ section for each tour which will provide you with links to the latest travel advice from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office for that particular destination, giving the most up to date information on:

  • Safety & Security
  • Terrorism
  • Health
  • Local laws & customs
  • Entry requirements (visa / passport)
  • Travel advice help and support

Please be aware that your specific passport and visa requirements, and other immigration requirements are your responsibility and you should confirm these with the relevant Embassies and/or Consulates. We do not accept any responsibility if you cannot travel because you have not complied with any passport, visa or immigration requirements.

You can visit the Foreign & Commonwealth Office’s foreign travel advice (including health & entry requirements) for each country by clicking FCDO advice – all countries

We always recommend that our clients seek advice on recommended vaccinations and precautions from a health professional – either a GP or a practise nurse, a pharmacist or a travel health clinic – ideally at least 8 weeks prior to departure.  If you have a particular health concern or take regular medicines, it is particularly important that you consult a health professional in advance of your trip and ensure you have adequate supplies to cover the duration of your tour.

It is essential that every person travelling is covered by travel insurance from the time of making a booking. This protects each person against the need to cancel the holiday/tour in certain circumstances and assistance will be provided by the insurer if someone is injured or ill whilst travelling.

It is the responsibility of the lead booker of the group to ensure that everyone on their booking has suitable travel insurance. The insurance cover that the group holds must be suitable and adequate for their needs. Travel insurance must cover all activities and sports undertaken and should cover at least the cost of the trip. If you are under-insured and need to make a claim, you will only be able to claim up to the limit stated on your policy.

Travel insurance already in place?

Please check your policy is suitable and adequate for your trip.

If you are concerned that this is not the case, please contact your insurer in the first instance to ask about increases to upper limits (value of booking and passenger numbers) or activities covered (including the sport the group is participating in and any other activities included in the itinerary) or anything else that you are concerned about.

We will ask you to confirm that you have a suitable policy in place when you sign our booking form.

Travel insurance needs to be arranged?

Should you not have an insurance policy in place, you must make arrangements and confirm to Team Travel Management that all passengers have a valid policy at the time of making the booking. Adequate and valid travel insurance is a requirement for all those travelling with Team Travel Management. It is a condition of completing your booking with us that you agree to obtain adequate travel insurance (which includes bespoke features specific the activities you will participate in during the trip).

When taking out insurance cover, please check policy covers the booking value and any sports or activities the group is participating in together with any other important areas of consideration, for example and not limited to, countries covered; repatriation; lost luggage; cancellation; injury; excesses etc.

We will ask you to confirm that you have a suitable policy in place when you sign our booking form.

Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC)

We highly recommend that all travellers obtain a UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) if travelling to countries in Europe. The UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) allows British nationals access to statutory healthcare in Europe at a reduced cost or sometimes for free.

It is important to note that the GHIC is not a replacement for travel insurance. The GHIC may not cover the cost of all medical treatment or repatriation

For more information about the UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC), you can visit the gov.uk website here.

Please be aware that your specific passport and visa requirements, and other immigration requirements are your responsibility and you should confirm these with the relevant Embassies and/or Consulates. We do not accept any responsibility if you cannot travel because you have not complied with any passport, visa or immigration requirements.
